Who is eligible for IELTS One Skill Retake?

What happens to your other three scores?
Your three untouched skill scores remain from the original test. After the retake, IELTS issues a new Test Report Form showing the new score for the retaken skill and the original scores for the other three. Your overall band is recalculated using the updated result. Your original result also remains available, so you can choose which valid result to use where accepted.
How long do One Skill Retake results take?
IELTS currently states that One Skill Retake results are released within 3–5 days. That makes OSR useful when one skill missed a university, professional-registration or visa requirement and the receiving organisation accepts retake results.
Important for Canada: Express Entry does not accept IELTS One Skill Retake
IRCC currently states that IELTS One Skill Retake is not accepted for Express Entry. Candidates using IELTS for Express Entry must use IELTS General Training and submit an accepted full-test result.
This matters if you are aiming for targets such as CLB 9 / IELTS 8777. If one skill is below your Express Entry target, do not assume an OSR result will solve it. Check the current IRCC language-test rules before paying for any retake.
Who accepts IELTS One Skill Retake?
Acceptance depends on the organisation and purpose. Many universities and professional bodies accept OSR, and UKVI accepts it for eligible IELTS Academic and General Training tests on computer in selected locations.
